The Baby Birch
I am a 27-year-old Birch from East Sooke, B.C.
I am a young bird! Even though I’m only 27-years young, I have lived a very fulfilling life. I’ve enjoyed optimal growing conditions yielding even spacing between my rings; the key to my even spaced rings are plenty of sunlight and water. The crack that extends to my core was caused by the quick drying process after I had fallen. Additionally, as I dried, my rings shrunk and pulled away from my bark- as seen on my right side. I consider these my perfect imperfections!
The black rings represent my winter growth; whereas the white rings represent my summer growth.
